Job Description

Diesel Mechanic Position Located In: Tonawonda, NY Overview: The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining all of the equipment in a state readiness, including; concrete mixer trucks, heavy construction equipment, automotive equipment, plant equipment and machinery. Whenever possible, we promote qualified employees to new or vacated positions, providing for a multitude of growth opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment. Repair and maintain; engines, frames, suspensions, ignition, fuel, braking, electrical, hydraulic and steering systems. Work with hoisting and lifting equipment, power tools, measuring instruments, gauges and meters. Performs DOT Vehicle Safety Inspections and maintain documentation per DOT requirements. Ensures conformance with policies, procedures, and all safety codes. Ensures proper documentation of maintenance and repair activities in logs or reports. Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and co-workers. Completes work orders and safety documentation in a timely manner. Welding – MIG and stick. Performs repairs and maintenance on plant equipment. Qualifications: High School diploma (or equivalent) and 3 years of in shop experience required. 2 year degree in diesel repair and 5 years of experience preferred. Class B Commercial Driver s License preferred. Certification or similar qualification in welding preferred. Apply Online Below
