JOB SUMMARY

TheEnvironmental Technician Driver will be responsible for proper transportationof various waste streams to throughout thesite. Operate Straight Trucks and Tractors Trailers to perform pickups of bulkand containerized hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. Performs a variety of duties that complywith government regulations and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operatestrucks which may include: roll-offs, tankers, tractor trailers and box trucks..

  • Maintainscompany equipment.

  • Ensurescustomer satisfaction.

  • Maintains and vehicle work logs.

  • Maintainsdocumentation of manifests and work orders.

  • Performsinspections ;

  • Drivefor an average of 8 to 14 hours per day with heavy loads being disposed.

  • Processeshazardous and non-hazardous materials as needed.

  • Assistsin maintaining good housekeeping at facility and on grounds

  • Performsother, related duties as assigned. These are duties may not be specificallylisted in this description, but which are within the general nature typicallyassociated with the employee’s level of work.

EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE

  • Technicalcertificate or equivalent combination of education or experience.

  • Requiredto have intermediate knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures.

  • 3or more years of progressively responsible experience.

SKILLS,KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES (SKA)

  • Abilityto read and interpret operating, maintenance and procedure manuals.

  • Abilityto present information in one-on-one and small group situations, includingvendors and coworkers.

  • Abilityto add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, anddecimals.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ANDREGISTRATIONS

  • Avalid class B commercial driver’s license is required.

PHYSICALDEMANDS

  • Frequentlyrequired to stand, walk, stoop, reach, climb or balance, hear and smell.

  • Requiredto use hands to handle, feel, and grasp.

  • Mustoccasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Mayneed to work long hours on specific projects.

  • Frequentinterruptions and repetitious motions.

  • Maybe in cramped or confined spaces for short periods of time.

  • Specificvision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depthperception and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Positionrequires occasional customer, visitor, contractor, and vendor contact.

    WORKENVIRONMENT

  • Workis typically performed in a truck, at a companyservice facility.

  • Elementswill be dependent on the season.

  • Noiselevel in the work environment is usually moderate.
